MAMBA OUT

THE LEGEND OF KOBE BRYANT

“Everything negative – pressure, challenges – is all an opportunity for me to rise.”

In inglese? in Italiano?

First, let’s start reading the article from Voice of America

Dear Basketball is a 2017 American animated short film written and narrated by Kobe Bryant and directed and animated by Glen Keane. The film is based on a letter Kobe Bryant wrote to The Players’ Tribune on November 29, 2015 announcing his retirement from basketball. The short film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 90th Academy Awards, marking the first Oscar win for any professional athlete.

DEAR BASKETBALL

Do you know the meaning of his 2 nicknames 81 & Black Mamba?

IL SIGNIFICATO DEI SUOI SOPRANNOMI
His story, his legacy

TASK: Watch the video again and take down some notes about some of the most relevant info about his life.

TASK 2: Following the model of his letter “Dear Basket”, write a similar letter to something – passion, sport, activity, person – you had to give up/ let go . Share it as a comment.

Dear Kobe, we are not ready to let you go. RIP

It’s Halloween night!

Hi! What am I doing here if I’m a retired teacher now? Well I’m just doing what I’ve always loved doing and still love to the moon. I’m preparing a lesson. This time it’s a lesson for Scuola In Ospedale at Cro in Aviano. I’m going to teach a lesson about Halloween. Since tomorrow there will be people going around wearing spooky costumes, pumpkins will be lit on window sills and in the gardens and kids will hang around saying “trick or treat”, it may be interesting to know something more about it.

What is Halloween?

Why do we celebrate it?

Now we can read an interesting article from Voice of America: The Most Popular Halloween Candies Across America https://learningenglish.voanews.com/a/favorite-candies-of-the-50-states/4630856.html

2 Years ago I wrote a nice post about the activity we did in class for Halloween: the creative writing & podcasts. Have a look: https://www.lacimetta.com/2017/11/08/halloween-stories/

Good bye and enjoy your Halloween tomorrow. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do 😉
