This post is devoted to introduce to you the English speaking writers who’ll be here in Pordenone next week to present their books at PordenoneLegge the most important italian literature festival. If you’re willing to hear and see them live because you’ve appreciated one of their novels or just because you enjoy listening to some “real” English – don’t worry, there’ll be be an interpreter to translate! – and are curious and want to know more about their production, here they are:
Saturday 20 September 3.30 p.m. Piazza san Marco: the Canadian writer Margaret Atwood presents the dystopian novel The Year of the Flood. She’s one of the greatest living novelists and her production is huge. I read one of her novels, Surfacing, when I was attending university, a few hers ago 😉
Here’s the interview to the writer:
Saturday 9p.m. Spazio ITASincontra Piazza della Motta Hanif Kureishi presents The Last Word.
Sunday 21 September 5.30 p.m. Piazza San Marco Jamaica Kincaid presents See Now Then. I cannot wait to attend her reading!
My colleagues and friends Nella Maccarrone & Cristiana Ziraldo have met and worked here with me to create a lesson in order to allow our students to get familiar with such a wonderful Caribbean writer. You can see our work in Ziraldo’s Blog.
Enjoy Pordenone Legge and see you around my beautiful and lively town swarming with writers from all over the world!!***************************
